This week’s episode, #15 Self Control, marks the end of the LMD arc of Agents of SHIELD’s 4th season. After finishing its second plot unit the show will go on hiatus for six weeks, until April 4th. No word yet on what the third and final arc will be titled, or if the series will get a fifth season. I’ll be keeping an eye out for those announcements.
The producers have released two sneak peek clips from the episode, which was written and directed by showrunner Jed Whedon. The LMD arc has been one of the best arcs of the entire series. This episode looks like it’s going to be packed with excitement and terror. Will we get a preview of Aida’s goals for the third arc? Or will Aida 2.0 be taken out to make room for a new menace? It seems like Aida 2.0 is just getting started, and she’s conveniently hidden in an untraceable sub, but I don’t write these things.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be many things.” If we weren’t sure that Aida is this season’s big bad before, I think Sneak Peek 1 confirms it. She may be about to drastically improve Ivanov’s character. Karma’s a b*tch.
Maybe we’ll get to see Fitz and Simmons spend some long overdue quality time together this episode. While they audition for a horror movie. And try to keep the inhumans from whatever genocide the LMDs have cooked up for them. That handholding/clutching in abject fear was perfect.
